For many of you this morning you will once more be staying safe at home. I am sure that this is getting old. This morning I was thinking about a passage of scripture found in
Psalms 46:10. “Be still, and know that I am God.” It begins by saying, “Be Still”. Much of America is ready to get rolling again, but God brings moments in our life that make us stand still. Some times this is literally locking us in our house, or placing us in a bed recovering from surgery. Other times it is simply jolting us spiritually and causing us to pause in the midst of chaos. In our life we need that moment to refocus our vision. Proverbs 29:18 says, “Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keeps the law, happy is he.” I believe we the church, individual believers, are being jolted awake to refocus our vision. God says be still, remember that I am in control. God is reminding us as we begin this week that we have little control of the circumstances of this week, but know, “that I am God.” Who is in control of your life today? Be still for a moment today and take time to know the God that is in control. When life seems crazy and out of focus, “Be still, and KNOW that I am God.” By Pastor David Rasnake
